What You Should be Reading: Syria

President Barack Obama has announced that he will address the nation on Tuesday from the White House. What he will say I don’t know.

He’s in limbo at this point.

Obama’s pursuit of a military strike has seen opposition within the United States and abroad.

He has yet to say whether he would act on his own, which, quite simply, would have serious implications for the United States.

I don’t think many realize that we are on the brink of something much, much bigger than Syria.

A use-of-force resolution needs to happen quickly, in my opinion. I hope it does. Many that I know are on edge, as we wait to find out what Congress will decide to do, or not do.

A Pew Research Center survey shows, by a margin of 48 percent to 29 percent, “more Americans oppose than support conducting military airstrikes against Syria in response to reports that the Syrian government used chemical weapons.”

Who knows what will happen.

We are all waiting.
